In your situation, it would best to perform a series of tests to understand where the issues might be. You will need the following for a complete testing:

First, connect the EZhotspot to an internet source. When successfully:

  • connect compluter/laptop to Yellow port of EZhotspot with a LAN cable
Is there internet? If YES, you should check on the manual of your NAS for more instructions.
More detailed test, connect IOS/Android device wirelessly. Launch the Net Analyzer app. Perform a LAN scan. It should output 3 IP addresses, The EZhotspot EXtender, the laptop/computer and your connected device. Use the ping function to detect the 2 addresses to confirm if you are able to reach the 2 IP address successfully.

  • connect compluter/laptop to Yellow port of EZhotspot with a LAN cable
Is there internet? If NO, check if the LED on the Yellow Port of EZhotspot Extender is lighted up. Try with another Yellow port. Try with another LAN cable if possible. Confirm laptop/computer is configured to DHCP IP assigned, DNS must be automatically assigned. In this case, there is a possibility the LAN ports might be faulty. Kindly contact your reseller for a RMA / warranty claim to EZhotspot Extender inspected/serviced/repaired/replaced.

You also mentioned issue of only the possibility to reach the EZhotspot Extender by 192.168.93.1 and not ezhotspot.eu. This is usually the case when:

  • the connected device is also connected to another internet source and the ezhotspot.eu is redirect to our online server and not 192.168.93.1
  • the DNS settings of your connected device is manually set to some other value and not assigned by the EZhotspot Extender.

In any case, you should ensure your EZhotspot Extender has the latest firmware version. You can check this in the OTA Firmware Upgrade menu if the EZhotspot Extender has internet access or browse to the firmware section to manually download the firmware and upload it to the EZhotspot Etender. http://ezwifi.eu/what-why-how/firmware

The Soft Factory Reset only resets the current network settings and Administrator password. It does not reset everything.

In your case, you might like to try the following

Note: Always power the EZhotspot Extender for at least 1 minute, then perform Soft or Hard reset as required.

After a Hard Factory Reset, it is recommended to power OFF and power ON the Ezhotspot Extender once to check if it is performing normally. The reason is that during the firmware re-initiation, some additional modules are patched to the firmware and will require a reboot to become active.

If after Hard Factory Reset and a one-time reboot, you still cannot scan for 5Ghz networks:

1 You may try the DIY V5 recovery package if you can understand and follow the instructions below:

2. Kindly contact your seller for a RMA procedure to have the EZhotspot Extender returned for Service/Repair and retrun to you ASAP.
